2018 English Camp (2018.03.30 - 2018.03.31) - "English connects with fun activity."

In order to improve our RGS students' English proficiency, the RGS English department and the school decided to have a two-month rotational English camp. This was our 2nd English camp in 2018. The English camp was held from 5th period of Friday (3, 30, 2018) to 3rd period of the following Saturday (3, 31, 2018). The entire RGS students were divided into 4 teams, and they were able to experience every English teacher's station. I, Sunny Ha, was charged to have a fun activity with students on the condition of speaking only English. Students were able to participate in a snack bridge activity. Since Christ became the bridge between God and us, it was important for students to understand why we were doing the activity in the faith perspective. The snack bridge signified the Christ; Hebrews 10:10 was used for explanation. A stronger connection between Christ and us strengthened our identity and relationship with God. The given materials were Korean crackers (Butter coconut, Ivy, and Ace) and a jar of strawberry jam. The crackers represented the body of Christ (flesh), and the jar of jam meant the blood of Christ. Understanding the meaning behind the activity, students really brainstormed how to make the strong snack bridge. All of idea-sharing activity were done in English!

After building the snack bridge, we even had a time to taste how strong our bridge could be! We tested our bridge by placing each item in order. The 1st item was a study box; the 2nd item was a relationship box; the 3rd item was a powerlessness box; the last box was a satan box. All of the snack bridges were able to endure and pass all the tests!
